Here at Scruffys we love nothing more than a wicked bit of live music or a fun event (especially ones that involve drinking), wether it be a collection of unsigned bands, am evening of burlesque, headliners from afar or legendary bands of times gone by; Scruffy Murphys is readily available for booking for the whole year. 1.Which room to book at Scruffy’s?
Currently the only room available to book at Scruffy’s is the basement room, due to the upstairs room being off limits to live performances due to a revamp which we hope will happen soon to enable gigs/events to happen upstairs. The basement is out main gig room and offers excellent acoustic abilities and an intimate crowd experience.
2.Ways to book at Scruffy Murphys.
A. You book the room for yourselves at the cost of £40, which covers your hire fee, sound engineer and PA/Mics. You can then charge whatever you wish on the door, sell merch and book your own supports. You are then in charge of promotion for the night and support bands. (we can always suggest decent local supports/headliners). With this option we will need you to download the Scruffys booking policy, which can be seen below in point number 3.
B. We arrange the gig as a Scruffy Murphys presents gig, where scruffys will pay the engineers wages and the room hire fee will be excluded. We book the supports/bands/headliner and promote the event through our own channels. You are still permitted to sell merch, and depending on the lineup we book/interest in performers we either make the gig free entry or charge a small price on the door (no more than £2 or £3) which is then split fairly between all the bands at the end of the night. If the gig is free entry we can supply petrol money to bands (no more than £20) if receipts are supplied. Excepetions may happen depending on the situation, contact one of our events managers should you have a query not answered here.
3. The Scruffy’s Booking Policy & Waiver
Here you can download the Scruffy’s Booking Policy. The policy outlines what the promoter/event organiser and all involved need to adhere to and provide for the venue to ensure that the event runs smoothly and successfully!
The Waiver has recently been introduced to help keep order and avoid unforseen accidents that could occur. Dont worry this is only to protect ourselves from the law, were not nazis who forbid moshing, we love a good time and dancing is fun, but we need to ensure that you remain respectful to the venue and the crowd, an obey the rules of the pit! \m/.

4.The Date Of Your Booking
Finding the right date for your booking is very important, we have an events calendar which will be udpadted regularly and can be seen on the Whats On section of this site, make sure you check this section and find a date that is free before you contact us here at scruffys. Should there be any queries towards a date or if your looking for a support slot on a date already listed, please contact us via email or by speaking to one of the events managers at Scruffys. If youve already made a booking but circumstances have changed, i.e line up changes, door charge or time changes or you are unable to commit to the date, please contact us via the email/phone number below.
5.The Basement Room and Equipment
Our basement gig room at Scruffys is one of best music venues in the city and we are well known for our excllence in sound and events management. The room has a capacity of 100, so is an ideal venue any gig. The room has its own bar, and can be tailored to your needs with the addition of a full PA set up, extra tables and chairs, different lighting set ups etc, we are also very flexible so anything else you may need, please do not hesitate to contact us.
